The Problem Quantified

Is spam costing you money? Many people think of spam as just a nuisance that has to be endured, but "living" with spam does has a tangible cost to your business. For example, let's say half of your employees have to deal with 100-200 spam emails per day (which is the situation many of our clients are in when they come to us – often after already trying an anti-spam product, or service from another party), and that each spam email takes 4 seconds to check and discard. That adds up to 5 minutes per employee per day. Over a month that adds up to 1 hour and 40 minutes per employee (averaged) dealing with spam. If you had 10 employees that's 2 days of effort per month that your staff spend deleting spam. If you have 100 employees – you effectively lose one of them to deleting spam every month.

And this is just an assessment of the labour cost. It doesn't include the effect on morale, the legal risks that might arise from failing to provide an environment free of harassment (given so much spam is sexual in nature), or the potential loss of custom when legitimate emails from customers are accidentally deleted without a trace in the morning spam cleanup.

Viruses present a different type of risk from the continuos and gradual loss of productivity that spam causes; viruses tend to result in occasional (yearly or so depending on your anti-virus defences) incidents that are expensive in terms of lost productivity and effort to restore services. However, unlike spam (which is just a little bit each day) you don't know when the virus outbreak will strike. If you are unlucky it might happen at one of those critical times when you need your computers.

Why use an email scanning service

Many people look to software products to fight spam. The most effective products tend to live in front of your email server. The least effective tends to be software that you install onto your desktop computer. This has to do with where programs make decisions about fighting spam.

However, all of these products need to be carefully configured, and kept up to date otherwise the product's effectiveness (if it ever had any) drops off.

Price

Pricing is available based on the number of mailboxes we scan, or the volume (per GB) of e-mail delivered.

The system is priced from $22.50AUD for 5 users, with an extra $7.50 per 5 additional users or part there of.

For large organisations the per GB pricing is most cost effective. You are billed each month in arrears based on the amount of email we send to you (after we clean the spam and viruses out of it). Pricing for this option is $110/month + $15/GB.

There is no price for extra domains, provided all the email goes to the same destination server.

There is a $50 setup price for the service.
